Some people are able to maintain their diet but for a large majority, any diet fails. They are just unable to continue for many reasons. They are tempted by tasty foods that go against their diet rules. Is dieting too difficult to follow? Generally, why diet fails in any weight reduction program?

Importance of Diet and Exercising

The basic of any weight reduction is less calorie intake and more calories burning, and hence diet and exercise play an important role. While diet keeps the calories under check, exercising ensures not only to burn off the excess calories, but also create calorie deficiency which aids in weight reduction. So if any weight reduction program does not include a moderate exercise plan, then the failure rate is on the higher side.

When people lose weight when they are on diet, their metabolic rate comes down. This slows down the weight reduction, may lead to frustration and ultimately can make people lose interest in dieting. This can result in them gaining back their weight at a much faster rate. It can be observed that some people despite eating more remain thin. This is because their body metabolic rate is higher and hence they spend more calories doing normal daily chores than others.

Constipation

One more factor that needs to be mentioned is, when one is on diet, their motion output is also reduced and this can lead to constipation. This can lead to other problems like anal fissures or hemorrhoids. The problem is more apparent in people who are above 40 years of age.

Hair fall

Another factor that happens during dieting is natural hair fall. For most women, this is a turnoff and they discontinue the dieting as a result of hair fall.

While people love to lose weight and want to diet, the truth is they cannot diet, and hence dieting fails for most of them in any weight reduction program.
